Purchaser/Service Writer  

Position: Purchaser/Service Writer

Employer: Control Tech USA Ltd.

Location: Wysox, Pennsylvania

Reports To: Business Development Manager

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Source and obtain price quotes from catalogues and suppliers
  • Enter daily field tickets into Syteline accounting program, following E-ticket procedure
  • Acquire necessary approvals for field tickets; enter all customer approval related coding into jobs
  • Help manage project costs upon request and compile related information appropriately
  • Work with purchasing / warehouse staff to reconcile material or inventory discrepancies
  • Prepares any necessary spreadsheets and provide administrative assistance as required
  • Provide approved jobs in a ready to invoice format to accounts receivable
  • Participate in the Control Tech Safety program, including maintenance of safety training compliance and attendance at monthly safety meetings
  • Providing assistance to and cross training with other departments to support the success of the operation
  • Check internal stock levels for material requested by technicians, order if no stock available
  • Check with technician on job order vs. stock order when required, ensuring material are being ordered in SyteLine to the appropriate physical location
  • Follow up on / expedite orders to ensure they are arriving at the expected time, or if not, the necessary staff are notified
  • Work with Warehousing Manager and Supervisor to maximize purchases on rebate accounts
  • Determine method of shipment for outgoing goods and arrange shipping
  • Work with vendors to ensure returns are completed in a timely manner
  • Communicate effectively with other members of the purchasing team, e-mailing through the purchasing distribution e-mail
  • Respond to purchasing requests in a timely manner to the distribution e-mail so everyone is aware
  • Assist with preparation of customer quotes/estimates
  • Cross train with other departments / locations to support the success of the operation
