Automation Technician – Oklahoma area

Employer: Control Tech

Location: Oklahoma area

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, training, and diagnostics on various equipment including PLC, ROC, SCADA Pack, SCADA Cloud, Control Logix, Allen- Bradley, Bristol Babcock, Factorytalk View and other automation systems
  • Develop advanced Programmable Logic Control designs and algorithms for control applications
  • Inspect and test instruments and systems using pneumatic, electrical / electronic testing devices, and precision measuring instruments
  • Repair and adjust system components such as sensors, transmitters, and programmable logic controllers; Remove and replace defective parts when required
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance work, complete test, and maintenance reports
  • Maintain preferred PLCs, HMIs, and Measurement network and software components
  • Maintain Process Control Domain, virtual machines, and physical servers
  • Monitor logs, run scans; Perform user administration, updates, testing, and antivirus applications
  • Assist with documentation and standards creation; Maintain integrity of control network including licensing
  • Manage and assist in the planning and bidding of Automation projects
  • Install control system instrumentation and electrical equipment
  • Consult manufacturer’s manuals to determine installation, test, and maintenance procedures
  • Install control and measurement instruments on existing and new equipment
  • Research and provide troubleshooting solutions and automation improvements/upgrades
  • Identify suitable automation control devices

Qualifications

  • 5+ years Control and Automation programming
  • Registered Journeyman Instrumentation Technician / Electrician; Electronics Technology, Controls and Automation Diploma
  • Strong SCADA experience required
  • Previous Programming experience
  • Oil and Gas Operations experience and maintenance knowledge required
  • Ability to read and interpret operating/maintenance manuals and electrical schematics
  • Panel building experience and wiring skills
  • Skills in radio and communication networking; technical writing skills
  • Automation product knowledge of Programmable Logic Controls, analog transmitters, and smart transmitters
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license is a must
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
Field Technician, Unlimited Electrical Journeyman – Licensed in Oklahoma

Employer: Control Tech

Location: Oklahoma area

License Qualification

  • Journeyman certificate licensed with Unlimited or Master Designation with 2 plus years experience
  • Unlimited Journeyman license preferred in Oklahoma (or having the ability to transfer current license to Oklahoma)
  • Experience in Oil and Gas and/or industrial a must

Qualifications:

  • Must be proficient with the NEC code (Current NFPA 70)
  • Must have prior industrial work experience (at least 3 years), or commercial work equivalent of 5 years
  • Must be able to read P&ID’s/Bluprints
  • Must be self motivated with minimal oversight
  • Must have good trouble shooting abilities
  • Willing to travel within Oklahoma and if needed out of state

Journeyman Electrician

Field Technician, Instrumentation Journeyman

Location: Dawson Creek, BC

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Quality

  • Maintain good customer relations
  • Complete QA / QC Redlines
  • Complete calibration reports, Meter calibration reports, etc.

Safety

  • Ensure Control Tech’s Safety program is followed; Maintain a high level of safety awareness and adherence; Refrain from any task for which authorization and/or training has not been given
  • Attend and participate in monthly safety meeting; Maintain Safety Certifications and report all incidents / safety concerns

Technical

  • Install process control, and measurement instrumentation on existing and new field equipment and processes (transmitters, controllers, analyzers, control valves, etc.)
  • Perform mechanical work associated with instrument repair and modification; remove and install small piping and tubing
  • Rebuild control valves and tune controllers
  • Perform preventative maintenance on instrumentation (calibration, replacement and tests as required); maintain field instrument records and standards
  • Provide support to operations in process control
  • Troubleshoot equipment and systems
  • Use test equipment and hand tools
  • Consult manufacturer’s manuals, circuit diagrams and blueprints to determine test, construction, and maintenance procedures
  • Inspect and test operation of instruments and systems (using pneumatic, electrical/electronic testing devices and precision measuring instruments) to diagnose faults
  • Repair and adjust system components (sensors, transmitters, programmable logic controllers, etc.); remove and replace defective parts
  • Calibrate components and instruments according to manufacturers’ specifications
  • On-call support as required
